On the auspicious morning of September 6, 2023, we hosted a beautiful wedding ceremony steeped in traditional Bhutanese customs. The couple began their new chapter as they were ushered to the venue by monks and mask dancers in a regal Chipdrel procession, set against a backdrop adorned with colorful prayer flags and fragrant flowers.
The Lama and monks chanted Moelem—Buddhist prayers that enveloped the couple in blessings and well-wishes.
The Zhudrel Ceremony, featuring the offering of betel nuts and auspicious items, was accompanied by vibrant cultural performances and traditional dances. This joyous occasion continued with the Khadar ceremony, where guests offered white scarves and gifts in a gesture of goodwill. Following the exchange of rings and a heartfelt cake cutting, guests enjoyed a delightful lunch with live music.
The celebration concluded with a warm welcome to the couple’s elegantly adorned wedding room, complete with flowers and a bottle of champagne—a fitting end to a day of love and joy.
