Pura Vida Ecolodge is a beautiful & very private eco-luxury retreat near South Pacific Coast (4hr drive with 4WD car) from Juan Santamaria International Airport. It’s an adrenalin junkies paradise, perfect for those who want to wake up to the sounds of monkeys, trek through the jungle and jump in a freshwater plunge pool all before breakfast! Your Stay
This is, as they say, the ‘real' Costa Rica as our beautiful and breezy location, at an altitude of just over 300 meters and with over 3 acres of private land, boasts stunning panoramic sea views over the lush valleys towards the meandering 'Rio Terraba' and directly faces the Pacific Ocean, Costa Rica's spectacular sunsets and the world famous National Parks - Isla del Caño & Osa Peninsula.
The most magical times are the early mornings and late afternoons where you can sit back with a freshly made juice or a glass of wine and be a spectator of nature with monkeys, pizotes, parrots and toucans all frequently visiting the lodge and it's surrounding reserve.
Pura Vida Ecolodge is a peaceful sanctuary to experience and embrace the 'Pura Vida' (Pure Life). A destination where couples can enjoy not only a memorable honeymoon, anniversary or vacation but tranquility, adventure and equilibrium in a utopia second to none.
What to Do
While there are so many sacred spaces in and around the Pura Vida Ecolodge Reserve (which play host to some very special pampering and life-changing experiences on offer), most couples choose to dedicate at least some of their vacation to explore what is Costa Rica's hidden gem, La Zona Sur. A largely untouched area where sustainable eco-tourism has thankfully made its mark and the local community is offering a fantastic array of opportunities to both explore and protect the natural world that we desperately need to reconnect with - and have a lot of fun at the same time!

The Food of Love
Not to be missed is the Private Chef Experience, providing guests with a bespoke gastronomic experience with a special emphasis on locally inspired cuisine and 100% organic ingredients, for couples to enjoy in the comfort of Pura Vida Ecolodge, whether you don’t fancy cooking in or eating out, or are looking for something a little bit special. Giovani and his team of private chefs come packed to the brim with fresh ingredients and oozing culinary ideas, offering authentic Tico inspired menus.
The dreamy dinners and breakfasts include a wonderful array of appetisers, main courses and desserts. Prices vary depending on bespoke menus but based on two people, start from around $250. The price includes preparation, fantastic set up and presentation and an impressive array of locally sourced organic ingredients. Payment (in cash please) goes directly to the chef on the day. If you’re looking for something a little less gourmet than The Private Chef Experience but don’t fancy cooking or eating out (especially on your first or last nights), we can arrange for tasty home-cooked meals (by our budding chef friends Yorly & Ili) to be delivered up to the lodge ($25 per person). In keeping with our 'green-living' ethos, we specialise in both plant-based & vegetarian meals/breakfasts and all dishes are made with locally sourced ingredients that are in season. Payment & tips (cash please) goes direct to Juan Carlos or Ili (whoever delivers) and all orders must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Likewise any cancellations (made less than 24 hours before) will be charged.
