Snorkeling in Belize's Great Blue Hole
Great Blue Hole Snorkeling Blue Hole trips are full-day excursions to Lighthouse Reef Atoll, which is approximately 50 miles by boat from Isla Marisol Resort. The first snorkel is at the Great Blue Hole National Monument. Participants then visit Half Moon Caye for lunch. The second snorkel is done near Half Moon Caye Wall. For those not up for a second snorkel, there is the option of exploring the island and its nesting colony of red footed booby birds. Half Moon Caye was designated a bird sanctuary in 1928, making it Belize’s oldest site for wildlife protection.
Snorkelers of all ages and abilities are welcome. A minimum of 6 participants are required to make the trip to Lighthouse Reef Atoll, which is approximately 2 hours away.
