Love at First Sight
This tiny, 375-acre coral island in the Indian Ocean, part of the Seychelles, is as close as you could come to an earthly paradise. Your Stay
Most of the hotel's 23 cottages and villas are just a few steps from the beach, many face the ocean and all are carefully positioned so that they are screened from one and other by vegetation and hedges. Guestrooms combine island style with contemporary chic and come with iPod docking stations, air conditioning and private verandahs. Other amenities include tea and coffee making facilities, mini fridges and wine chillers.
What to Do
The spa therapists can offer a selection of in-room relaxation treatments based on Seychellois, Indian and Swedish techniques. A nature guide can walk you round the island and help you to appreciate the extraordinary wildlife, including a giant tortoise colony. There are jogging trails, a tennis court and canoes are available. A small diving centre can cater to both beginners and experienced divers and the snorkelling around the island is excellent, with beautiful coral formations abundant tropical fish. You can also head out to the wide ocean for deep-sea fishing.
The Food of Love
Denis Island offers a gourmet a la carte menu as well as a Creole-style buffet and you can dine in the light-filled restaurant, in the open air or a private beach dinner. Much of the fresh produce comes from the island's farm and fish and seafood are harvested from the surrounding seas.
