Find out why there’s plenty more than golf to enjoy at this famed Warwickshire venue...
Set over more than 500 acres of rolling countryside, amid gorgeous woodland, The Belfry really looks the part from the outside. That will come as no great surprise to golf fans: this Midlands retreat is renowned for having hosted no fewer than four Ryder Cups in the past and has been voted ‘England’s Leading Resort’ for 3 consecutive years.
This was our second stay at the Belfry and much to Jason’s delight we arrived on the nail-biting final day of the US Open. With plenty of time to check-in before heading down to the Brabazon Bar to witness Tiger Wood’s great comeback, we made our way up to our Signature Suite… popped our welcome champers on a plush sofa… and enjoyed the views from our private balcony…. complete with cute white railings… and overlooking the Belfry’s perfectly manicured greens.
Again (as on our first visit a couple of years ago), we agreed The Belfry is a superb setting to kick-back and relax whether you’re seeking a lazy weekend or a more active getaway.
We stayed on the Belfry’s Suite
Sundays package which includes an overnight stay (on a Sunday, naturally)
in one of their very slick and elegantly decorated suites. The bedroom and
lounge were both modern and very well equipped. The king-sized bed was
super-comfy and spacious. The bathroom was ample with a bathtub almost big
enough to swim in. We could happily have stayed here for a whole week!
Suite Sundays package includes:
What’s on offer?
The facilities at The Belfry are wide-ranging – this is a resort destination with everything you need on-site.
Dining options here are headlined by The Ryder Grill, where Head Chef Robert Bates and his troops create high-quality dishes using locally sourced produce. And if you book the Suite Sundays package, you’ll be able to make the most of a delicious Sunday Night dinner made up of the Chef's Choice menu.
Then there’s the Brabazon Bar, with its chilled vibe
and green and cream décor. Don’t miss the chance for an Afternoon Tea using
home-made malt loaf and scones. What’s more there’s a Starbucks, Rocca’s Pizza Pasta and Sam's Club
House (a great spot for a cocktail) to choose from.
The resort’s Spa offers a wide range of beauty and spa
treatments which can be utilised as part of an overnight spa break, or you
could choose a single face, body or massage treatment. You can also take a
relaxing dip in the whirlpool.
Also, there are further plans afoot for a new leisure club, spa and ballroom at
the resort – meaning it’d be a good idea to keep watching this space for
upcoming news on future developments…
If at any time you’re looking to escape the laid-back seclusion of the hotel, there are a range of attractions nearby.

Or for a change of pace, there’s also the Bel Air nightclub, a spot which has for many years had legendary status among locals!
The morning after….
During our short-but-sweet visit we discovered that there was no need to hit the snooze button - our late check-out allowing us the rare opportunity to slowly bask in the unrivaled pleasure of a Monday morning lie-lin. Combined with a full English brekkie which we had delivered to our room, we left The Belfry relaxed, refreshed and ready to face the week ahead.
