Love at First Sight
Las Almandas is a secluded luxury resort on Mexico's Pacific coast. Set in a 1,500-acre nature reserve, the resort has four private beaches with fine, white sand. The 16 suites are set in a collection of villas built in traditional Mexican hacienda style but featuring all modern amenities. The hotel is surrounded by carefully landscaped gardens full of exotic tropical plants and flowers. Guests can relax by the pool or on one of the four private beaches, or enjoy a wide range of activities arranged by the hotel.
Romance
The hotel has a special package for honeymooners, the Honeymoon Escape. You'll spend four nights in your chosen suite where you'll find a bottle of champagne and freshly baked cookies, and you can opt to take breakfast in your room each morning. You'll be welcomed with exotic cocktails and tropical fruits, the hotel will provide a complimentary picnic on the beach and you'll have two one-hour couples' massages. You can also get married at Las Almandas and the hotel will be happy to take care of all the details whether you're having a small intimate event or a large-scale public affair.
Your Stay
Guestrooms are decorated in simple but effective style with Mexican crafts and prints and have private terraces. All rooms have either ocean or garden views and come with air conditioning, iPod docks, TVs and DVD players. Other amenities include a beach bag and beach towels, bathrobes and slippers, and complimentary organic toiletries. Free wifi is available in the public areas. The hotel has a spa offering a variety of complementary and beauty treatments as well as yoga and massage.
What to Do
During the day, you can hang out on one of the beaches or by the pool, or take advantage of the many other leisure activities such as tennis, beach volleyball and basketball. Kayaking on the nearby lagoons with their incredible selection of birdlife is another favourite pastime and horseback riding is also available. You can take a trip to Bird Island with a picnic lunch – the island has a fine beach and excellent snorkelling. In the evenings, there's the Estrella Azul, Las Alamandas’ rooftop bar, an ideal place to enjoy the spectacular sunsets. After dark, the night sky is alive with stars and there's a telescope to get the full benefit of the celestial light show.
The Food of Love
The Oasis Restaurant offers candlelit dining and sophisticated contemporary Mexican cuisine with organic vegetables, herbs and fruits from the hotel's own gardens. La Palapa Beach Club is by the ocean and serves light meals and lunches during the day.
