Love at First Sight
Located at the gateway of the Gorges du Verdon Canyons and lovingly created by Alain Ducasse, Bastide de Moustiers is a small country inn and restaurant offering guests a perfect home-from-home experience in the heart of the Alpes of Haute-Provence. Bursting with Provencal charm, the tranquil ambience, elegant service and seasonal celebration of local cuisines make for a perfectly intimate and romantic stay.
Romance
With the breeze sweetly scented by lavender and the song of cicadas playing soulfully in the background, nature has created a perfect setting for romance at Bastide de Moustiers and couples spend quiet days together strolling in the gardens, plunging in the swimming-pool or simply lazing in a hammock. For a special romantic afternoon order ½ bottle of wine in your room, take a bike ride and picnic for an intimate lunch, or, for a once-in-lifetime experience, take to the skies with a hot air balloon ride over Provence. In the evenings the restaurant can arrange a private dinner for 2, perfect for sharing a romantic birthday or anniversary meal or perhaps even popping the question.
Your Stay
Whilst all the rooms are unquestionably romantic the two suites stand out for their extra-special offering. A real haven of peace, the Suite Prestige “Bastidon” is approximately 75m², with a private garden, terrace and direct access to the pool. The Suite “Olive”, is approximately 55m², with a private terrace and a fire place, and situated in a separated house about 80 meters from the main building.
What to Do
Provence is a region that offers something for all couples from quiet, relaxed retreats to adrenaline fuelled adventures. Highlights in the local area include the Regional Nature Park of Verdon, the majestic preserved sites of Gorges du Verdon, Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, one of the most beautiful villages in France, visits of earthenware artisans workshops and a full selection of sports including: paragliding, canyoning, rafting, rowing and canoeing, and horse-trekking.
The Food of Love
Celebrating food is an intrinsic part of the Bastide de Moustiers experience and the hotel's restaurant is the beating heart of the property describing it's menu as "Mediterranean cuisine interpreted by someone who truly knows the area (Provence)!" As well as romantic dinners in the evening, couples can enjoy breakfast in bed and “Picnic Chic” - an opportunity to have lunch in an exceptional setting: Provence’s natural landscape. An entirely restored 1950 Chevrolet Pick-up truck, will take you to a lovely glade not so far from La Bastide to enjoy a lunch of Mediterranean cuisine under the branches of downy oaks and including ½ bottle of Champagne.
