Love at First Sight
With 18 acres of Lake District National Park and a quarter of a mile of private lake shore looking out over Ullswater and the fells, Another Place, The Lake makes for an effortlessly romantic backdrop for your break in the Lakes. A little less traversed than the popular Lake Windermere, Ullswater is widely regarded as the most beautiful lake of them all.
Romance
Two of our suite rooms in the original Georgian house are the most spacious rooms the hotel has to offer, all with stunning views across Ullswater to the fells beyond – perfect for idle gazing from your private balcony. The four poster beds retain a vintage, romantic charm.
Your Stay
The Lake District is notorious for making you feel like you’re a million miles away from everyday life. Put down your phones, get lost in the fells, sample our perky gin list and make the most of all the Lake District has to offer while reconnecting with each other.
What to Do
Whether you’d like to don a fluffy robe and head to Swim Club for some downtime in our double treatment room, or pull on your wellies and head outside for muddy adventures; there’s the freedom to do as you please during your stay at Another Place, The Lake.
The second largest lake in England, Ullswater’s shoreline is occupied by English oak, beach and alder trees. Our picture-postcard English countryside and romance go hand-in-hand. For a showcase of the power and natural beauty of our surroundings, head to the National Trust’s Aira Force – a 65-foot waterfall and network of walking trails.
The Food of Love
Good food is at the heart of Another Place. Our larder is brimming with delicious, heritage and wholesome ingredients, sourced locally and from our own vegetable patch and herb garden. Choose from a three-course menu in our open-kitchen restaurant or take things outdoors and find your spot together by the fire pit. The minimal light pollution in the Lake District makes for epic stargazing.
